We have now Inspection available under project that allow define:
Hierarchy that help breakdown the project as:
PBS (Product/Project Breakdown) or
SBS (System Breakdown) or
WBS (Work Breakdown) or
SBS (Service/System Breakdown) or
CBS (Construction Breakdown)
We have inspection groups which allow us to assign a group to conduct inspection to specific branches of the hierarchy.
And we can assign forms to be use by those group
What we are missing, is a way to assign a physical asset, like a pump, or an electrical line or a door, an electical outlet etc......
We could add the asset under the Hierarchy, but it will stil be a virtual component, we need a way to have a physical element under PW that represent the physical asset.
The idea would be to have a Document or a Document Set with a special category.
That document could then be attach to a 3D element under an iModel.
That same document could be attach/link to a branch of the hierarchy
That same document could be attach/link to a Specification or Vendor Specification document
Document set could make a logical choice, as we could stack many documents under the document Set. Example the Vendore Specs PDF could be link to a specifications, whihc would prevent from duplicate the document, saving lot of storage space when looking at the Bentley Data Center point of view and may be save on electricity as well
A document set could also receive an Equipment tag, which is the unique individuel way for the operation and maintenance to track activities on a piece of equipment.
The document set, could also become a broadcaster of properties to other module/system belng link which will consume data from the document set.
Which will reinforce the data centric orientation of the whole system
